Eating out for a fraction of the price

Eating out for a fraction of the price

My favorite way to dine out at bargain prices is by snatching up $25 gift certificates for $10 (or less) at Restaurant.com. Some restrictions do apply, generally requirements to spend at least $35 before the discount, the addition of an 18% gratuity, or limitations on days of the week (weekends are usually excluded). But the best part about this website is its frequent coupon codes — available by either signing up for a Restaurant.com account & adjusting your preferences to include special offer notification, or by doing a simple Google search for “Restaurant.com coupon code” and seeing what pops up.

The payoff? Recent codes have netted me 80% off of my order, allowing me a $25 gift certificate for Geja’s Cafe, Sola, and Deleece for a mere $2 — even once Jack and I order our food and allow for a tip and all that jazz, we’ve still scored what could have been a $100 meal for less than $40, tax and tip included. Other notable things about Restaurant.com: PayPal is an accepted form of payment (great for those of us who eschew credit cards or simply feel uncomfortable using them online), and all certificates are stored in your online account, so if you don’t (or can’t) print them out right away, they’re easily accessible for up to a year after purchase.

Visit Restaurant.com for information, restaurant searches, and other discount offers.
