It’s easy (on the ears) being green

Eckhardt Park is the venue of choice for eco-friendly music afiocionados this August, when the park hosts the first-ever Green Music Fest. All vendors are green or eco-friendly, whether selling crafts made with recycled materials or techie gadgets made with green components, and fun-filled family activities strewn throughout the weekend directly fund improvements to the Eckhart Park playground.  And the music lineup? Totally filled with the sorts of bands you’d rock out to whether they were supporting an eco-friendly vibe or not:

Saturday, August 15th:

  • Art Brut
  • tapes ‘n tapes
  • Say Hi (…)
  • Maritime
  • Vampire Hands
  • Brilliant Pebbles

Sunday, August 16th:

  • Lucero
  • Murder By Death
  • These United States
  • Catfish Haven
  • The Saps
  • Minneapolis Henrys
  • Canasta

The Green Music Fest runs August 15-16, from 12n-11pm, in Eckhardt Park, 1330 W. Chicago Avenue. Tickets run from $11.50 (one-day) to $20 (two-day) in advance (via TicketWeb) or $15/day at the gate. Visit www.greenmusicfestchicago.com for more information.
